Calculation Process

The Painting Cost Calculator uses a systematic approach to estimate the total cost of painting a room. Here’s how it works:
  1. Calculate Wall Area:
    • The total wall area is calculated using the formula:Wall Area=2×(Length+Width)×Height
    • Window area that will be subtracted= Length x Width
    • Window frame area that will be added to the net painting area = 2×(Length+Width)×Depth
    • This accounts for all four walls of the room.
    • Roof area = Length x Width
    • Net area = (Wall area + Roof area) – Window area + Side frame area.
  2. Subtract Windows and Doors (Optional):
    • If you provide the area of windows and doors, the calculator subtracts these from the total wall area to ensure accuracy.
  3. Determine Paint Quantity:
    • The amount of paint required is calculated based on the wall area and the coverage of the selected paint type (in square feet per liter or gallon).
  4. Compute Total Paint Cost:
    • Multiply the required paint quantity by the cost per square foot (or per square inch).
  5. Add Additional Costs:
    • Include any extra costs such as primer, labor, or tools to get the final estimate.
  6. Display Results:
    • The form displays the total estimated cost, including a breakdown of paint and additional expenses.
